INSTRUCTIONS
¶ 1 Leave a comment on paragraph 1 0 How do I comment on the book?
¶ 2 Leave a comment on paragraph 2 0 The reviewing platform functions similarly to word processing commenting functionalities. Any comments you make will be displayed, publicly, to the side of the text. You can offer sentence-specific feedback, or conceptual thoughts on the piece as a whole at the very top in the “Comments on the whole page” section. Whereas peer-review is often blinded, you have the option of attaching your name to your comments or making the comment anonymously. We encourage public commentary, but if you make your comments anonymous that is okay as well (an email address is required, but is not displayed).
¶ 3 Leave a comment on paragraph 3 0 What comments should I make?
¶ 4 Leave a comment on paragraph 4 0 We are open to any and all constructive and generous comments, and we invite reviewers to be as creative as they like.
¶ 5 Leave a comment on paragraph 5 0 Here are few questions you might wish to consider:
- ¶ 6 Leave a comment on paragraph 6 0
- How could this text be enriched?
- Are there relevant intellectual debates that need to be addressed?
- Where is there scope to polish the written style of the piece?
- How might the use of imagery / media be improved?
- What non-academic audiences could be more explicitly addressed?
¶ 7 Leave a comment on paragraph 7 0 Please be aware that these pieces were composed to be short essays and that the eventual paperback book will also feature short essays and not full-length articles. We ask you to kindly tailor your input accordingly.
¶ 8 Leave a comment on paragraph 8 0 A bug to watch out for
¶ 9 Leave a comment on paragraph 9 0 There is one bug in the system that we are aware of — if a paragraph already has a comment made on it that you wish to add to, when your new comment is added it seemingly disappears, with the site instead duplicating the previous comment. To fix this, simply refresh the page after making your comment — your new comment should now show underneath the previous comment.

¶ 11 Leave a comment on paragraph 11 0 Visit matteringpress.org for more information on the press and its books. Aside from the aforementioned glitch, the platform should be easy to use and self-explanatory.
